the octostacker [Nov. 9th, 2006|07:13 pm]
Cory
yesterday for lunch i went to burgerking and got two quad stackers. i then formed them together, minus a set of buns.

bottom bun, meat, cheese, meat, cheese, meat, cheese, meat, cheese, bacon, sauce, meat, cheese, meat, cheese, meat, cheese, meat, cheese, bacon, sauce, top bun

it was hard to return to work after finishing such a meal, but eventually i felt human again.

woke up at 10am. removed headband. played shitty games. washed hair in sink. went to pancho villas with entire axe gang. got the super burrito for 2 with chad. greg got some bitch meal, i think it was called "not the super burrito". greg left. stayed at pancho villas for like almost 2 hours after we were done eating, for no reason. there was so much super burrito left in the to-go box. thought about leaving dearborn, but didnt. went next door to gelato di romas and got shakes. realized we forgot the super burrito remains. did not attempt to get them back. thought about leaving dearborn again, but then adam called. adam drove out to meet us. walked like 3 blocks to kroger to kill time. took a dump. walked back to gelatos to meet adam. walked many blocks in the opposite direction. went to le cigar. looked at a million cigars for a long ass time. some weasely lookin dude workin there either asked if we needed some education or vegitation. not sure which. adam got "the juggernaut". walked back to adams car by gelato for his lighter. walked back to where we were and beyond. found a fucking carnival. walked around the whole damn thing. found some crazy ass religious people preaching about jesus with a megaphone (note to self: buy a fucking megaphone) listened to them speak for a while. they were bonkers, they had a big list with people that deserved death. amongst the people on this list were "lovers of pleasure". bummer. no fun allowed apparently. finally got some bracelets so we could go on rides, after much debate. rode the zombie. rode the ferris wheel. rode other shit. rode the zombie like 4 more times. the zombie is the sweetest ride ever created. left the carnival. went to dearborn music. bought dat politics cd. went to thai palace. got some of the hottest food ever consumed by man. they seriously made it way hotter than ever before. the bill said XXhot. i never knew they could go beyond the Xhot. walked around. saw some fireworks from the street. realized the streets were about to be packed with people and cars. decided to wait until they were everywhere before leaving. we must be retarded. drove down the backstreets while tailing adam "eat my fucking dust" taurence. drove chad home. went home.

pretty cool day. i wanted to add details but it would be like a fucking novel if i did so. all anyone needs to know is that if that dearborn carnival is still rocking tomorrow, they need to go and ride the zombie. i think im gonna finally take a shower.

So the rules are, once you've been tagged, you have to write a blog with 6 "weird facts/things/habits about yourself", saying who tagged you. In the end you need to choose the 6 people to be tagged and list their names. No tag backs.

1. i believe that friendship is probably the best thing you can get out of life. fame and fortune, while very nice, are overrated.

2. i think video games might be the most versatile artform there is and dont get half the credit they deserve. now, im not saying every published video game is golden, thats lunacy. the fact is that not everyone can access the full potential of the medium. its the same as any other artform. shitty movies are still being made, the radio still plays terrible music, people on myspace still own cameras, etc...

3. the noise that alarm clocks make when they turn on (the noise before the actual noise of the alarm) sends shivers down my spine

4. im like an old person sometimes. i almost always feel tired, i love taking naps and drinking lemonade, i like going to parks, and i get excited when i think about retirement. maybe i need to start taking vitamins or something.

5. i rarely put my shoes all the way on before leaving the house. its too much of a hastle, plus im always running late. i often adjust them in the car at red lights or when i reach my destination.

6. i went to my great grandfathers funeral a few months ago and saw my dad for the first time in 10 years. i did that thing where you walk by somebody and pretend like you didnt see him, he did the same. then i ate some delicious sandwhiches and cake a few tables away.

tagging is gay. i figured id fill this thing out cause i was too lazy to make a real entry, i just thought id let the world of LJ know that im still alive and i still read other peoples entries. feel free to do this thing if you want.

gametrailers.com has a second silent hill trailer up and runnin. this one is way longer and shows a lot more. looks like almost every single monster is from SH2 and the story is indeed based on the first game. the trailer shows some scenes from sh1 and maybe a couple from 2 recreated. i was so excited i wizzed my pants.

dream come true [Jan. 12th, 2006|02:22 am]
Cory
anyone who knows me, knows that ive been waiting for this movie to come out for like forever. ever since i played the first silent hill back in 99 ive wanted a movie, and now one is finally coming out 7 years later. according to the director, hes been wanting to get this movie made since he was halfway through the first game. i guess he contacted the silent hill team after he beat it but it took them years to trust him with the rights. nobody at konami wanted to see the silent hill name get shit on, like what happens in every other video game movie. so anyways, i guess everyone involved in writing and directing this thing really likes silent hill and didnt want to fuck it up either. add in the silent hill team for extra help and it sounds like everything is perfect. i guess they went through a lot of trouble to make sure the use of color, sound, and music was all true to the game. the story is supposed to be based on the first game with elements from the third and second(the best game ever). the second game doesnt have much to do the with the 1st or 3rd but the director said he liked the look of it the best. so yeah, it comes out on 4/21/06. theres a trailer out now. i hope this movie rules as much as i know its going to.

CLICK HERE for the totally sweet trailer.

so lately ive been doing a whole lot of nothing besides working and occasionally hanging out with friends. recently ive started hanging out with my buddies jared and derek from best buy a lot. mostly we just play video games and eat junk food but everytime we hang out weve also been recording "music" on jareds computer. we use various shitty programs, guitar, a keyboard, and a microphone that stopped working yesterday. it all sounds like crap, but by that i mean its the best music ever. haha, well... in any event... its a lot of fun to make. everyone should check it out.

Haunted Pajamas: Night 5 [Nov. 25th, 2005|02:01 pm]
Cory
03:30am: sleep.
??:??am: woke up cause i had a nightmare, but fell right back to sleep cause it wasnt that bad. then i had like 2 or 3 more dreams, but none were nightmares.
01:30pm: wake.

had a nightmare, but it really wasnt that bad. its still not enough evidence to deam the pajamas haunted. i require many more nightmares, that are much more frightening. this nightmare could have simply been a result of my thanksgiving feast, the imending doom of black friday, watching phil play condenmned that night, watching too much judge mathis before falling asleep, or not watching enough judge mathis before falling asleep.

still really tired, but no dreams or anything. the only real problem so far is that the haunted pajamas are not my size.

12:00am: I put on the haunted pajamas for the first time.
01:00am: I went to sleep.
10:45am: Woke up, took a wizz, went back to sleep.
01:00pm: Awake for real this time.

...thats it really. there were some silly dreams in-between. none were all that memorable. none were nightmares. I shall continue investigating said "haunted pajamas" tonight.

the holidays are retarded, but at least they are getting me lots of hours at work. ill ive been doing lately is working. 12 hour shifts galore. i would actually be getting overtime this week if stupid best buy would let me work more than 40 hours. either way, im starting another job real soon, working with my pals phil, april, and don. i dont know how its all gonna work out soon with my current job, but until the holidays are over i think its safe to assume that ill be working at least one job every single day of the week. normally i would not enjoy such work habits, but im probably gonna be moving out in spring, so this is a nice head start.

p.s. mario kart ds is probably the best mario kart game ive ever played and ive only played it for like 10 min.

p.p.s. people should go to gregs halloween II party on december 2nd.

[mood |wailing on my axe in a desert]
[music |november rain]

so i was checkin out livejournal here, and i realized theres the "My LJ" option on the main pages top menu. i dont know how new that is, but i know ive never seen it before till now. anyhow, part of it shows upcoming birthdays of your LJ friends. as i was looking at that, i realized that my birthday was next month. which totally surprised me because i completely forgot about it till now. i cant even remember the last time i thought about my birthday or when it was coming. whenever ive thought about december lately, ive just thought about how crazy busy best buy will be, or how much i hate christmas, or how i want to go snowboarding... but not once did i remember that its also the month i was born in.

its interesting how things change over the years. when i was young, all i cared about was christmas and my birthday. they were the two best holidays ever, because i got presents. birthdays also had the added bonus of everything revolving around me for day. nowadays they are the two holidays i care the least about. i just like halloween and ACEN (truely the best holiday ever). dressing up in costumes, eating candy and junkfood, and acting like an idiot is way better than presents or self absorption anyday. maybe one day ill just start calling my birthday "Halloween II". ill wear a stupid costume and eat candy and hang out with my friends and maybe even throw a party, in hopes that the trend spreads. basically id want it to be just like normal halloween, but without the whole 'giving kids candy' part, because thats no fun for anyone whos older. maybe then i could actually remember what day i become another year older.

on a side note, i will soon be the owner of a pair of "haunted" pajamas. with any luck they will give me terribly bad nightmares and make me go batshit crazy. oh, the wonders of ebay! haha. thanks greg, i cant wait.

danzig [Oct. 12th, 2005|03:40 am]
Cory
tonight i attended what was quite possibly the best show ive ever been to in my life. tonight, i went to see danzig, which is definitely a sweet enough show in itself. BUT, halfway through the set, danzig introduced a very special guest. the misfits guitarist, doyle wolfgang von frankenstein, came stompin out, all geared up. i knew he was gonna be there, but i had no idea what to expect and when i saw him standin next to danzig on stage it was just overwhelming. i thought maybe hed come out and play danzig songs and maybe if i was lucky id get to hear a misfits song or two, but i was wrong. they played 20 eyes, astro zombies, skulls, we are 138, die die my darling, last caress, mommy can i go out and kill tonight, and like a couple i cant even remember, i was so pumped. i basically got to see two of the best bands ever in one night. all they needed was jerry only, but i guess danzig has claimed that this is as close as its gonna get to ever having a full blown misfits reunion. ill keep my fingers crossed though.

p.s. let it be known, eventhough danzig has quite the gut goin and pretty damned chubby cheeks, he still gives off a very fearsome presence on stage. and doyle, jeeze, that guy is still fuckin huge.

so the past 4 days or so ive been training to eat 10 bowls of neverending pasta and today i went in there and tried. i could only eat 8. it was an improvement over my current record of 6, by far, but 10 just wasnt happening. maybe if i would have trained for longer. i bet i could do it by the time pasta bowl ends this year, but i just dont want to at all, it wasnt very fun. plus id like to get back to my regular eating habits, no more stuffing the hell out of myself everyday.

so yeah, i know i said i was gonna wait until next year to try 10 bowls of pasta in a row but im gonna try this monday or tuesday if the neverending pasta bowl is still going on. ive got the perfect training set up, today is phils sisters college grad party, so i can eat all the free food i want. sunday is some thing at best buy with supposedly lots of food where i can eat all i want for like 5 bucks or something. thats like 2 days of stomach stretching. if it turns out by chance that monday is the last day of the pasta bowl ill have to go and try then, if not then i have monday to train too. if it ends before monday then i guess i missed my chance. i have no idea how long its been going on so far, but i hope it lasts long enough for me to try this.

after staying up all monday night playing video games with phil and tim, i thought it would be a good idea to cut my hair at 8am on tuesday. so i did. tim cut the back for me. due to some mistakes that had to be dealt with, its pretty short now, but its pretty good for neither of us ever cutting hair in our lives. maybe ill throw up some pictures or something soon, i dont know. after the hair cut i watched pee wees big adventure till i passed out. when i woke up at like 3:45 it was time for the neverending pasta bowl. adam and i both ate 6 bowls of pasta, ive never eaten so many bowls of anything in my entire life. apparently its not really neverending and they cut you off after 10. i have no idea who could eat 10 bowls(6 now being the highest ive ever seen), but id like to do it one day.

i just cleaned my car. here is what i took out.

--enough trash to fill one trash bag (papers, cups, plastic bottles, old chips, old gum)
--2 big (2ftx4ft) posterboard things
--a few returnable bottles and cans
--metroid for NES
--7 cds
--my keyboard
--a black and white disposable camera with 6 pictures left
--some notebooks and folders from HFCC

here are some things i left in there.

--spare change
--some clothes
--a little etch-a-sketch
--some little space invaders handheld (probably broken)
--a fuck ton of chip crumbs on my floor (ok maybe not a fuck ton, i did wipe some out into the driveway)
--several pens
--a t square
--a meter stick
--a couple of check books
--some other crap i dont remember

all n' all its pretty damn clean as compared to usual. it can actually seat 4 people out of its maximum capacity of 5. which is way better than its usual 1 or 2 out of 5.

[mood |boredbored]

this was my response to someone elses journal update, but their entry disappeared so i guess ill just post it in my own journal instead. i can ramble about music forever, sorry:

"call me crazy, but i wouldnt be so biased as to judge people on their music taste alone. i hate too many bands, thus id have to be angry at too many people i dont even know. besides, whos to decide what music is and isnt terrible?

there are, however, some things that cheese me off a little.

i cant stand people who wont shut up about how whatever band they listen to (imagine its one you cant stand) is way sweeter than anything else when they have hardly ever heard anything else themselves, but thats only because they are being irrational jerks and talking down music theyve never heard. i also hate it when people act like they know everything about music, regardless of how much they do actually know. i also dont like when people think they are too cool for school because they listen to hundreds of bands that the next guy has never heard of, thats just retarded. granted most of what they listen to isnt all similar they 'might' be well diversed in their musical taste, which is fantastic but doesnt mean they know more about music.

im not even sure if one person can actually 'know' more about music than another person. i guess, to me, someone who knows a lot about music would be someone whos heard and appreciates many forms of music, knows why they like the music they like and why they dont like the bands they hate, goes to shows to actually see bands (not to get wasted or get laid or something), and knows that music is just another form of entertainment, no matter how much it rules. its purpose is to entertain or inspire by invoking thought or feeling, not run your life.

so i guess what makes a good band to me is one that leaves an impression on me. one that can bring about strong feelings or deep thoughts. like you said that one time about getting goosebumps when you hear a really good song.

god damn, sorry for all that, im gonna stop now before i go on even longer. i was just really bored and had nothing else to do, so i just kept yappin. ill understand if nobody ever reads this ever."
